Here are my blogs from when i spent my time in israel in 2010
September:
To whom it may concern, so here I am writing my new personal monthly update for those who care about IJ the most. Any way, wow what a long 3 days of yom tov, speaking of I hope you had a very nice yomtov. Actually an interesting thought, I spent some time over succoat with a new freind of mine Rabbi tzvi freidman, the former Executive Director of the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB) he said that we should get used to the 3 day yuntifs for the next 2 years they are packed with them!!!!! I could barley last 1!! By the way I spent my succoat in ramat beit shemesh, which was not packed with americans like last year!!, on that thought its amazing how hashem works....why is that well, I went to RBS as its called, with 3 meals out of 7!!, 7!!! & during the days we (my 2 freinds who went with me for the chag) arranged & got every meal. I stayed at Mr. & Mrs. Zevi Schonberg on nachal achziv- amazing people, zev's the man!. Before succoat I spent some time with my fivetown freinds, the Fingerer mishpacha...yom kippur & rosh hashana was spent in yeshiva. Last sunday night I saw a great movie called inception, highly recommended! Anyway yeshiva is going fantastic, not a fan of israel life though, I am learning meseches kidushin, 1st perek in the rosh yeshivas shiur! & 2cnd perek for my long 3 & a half night seder. The only thing on my mind now is how will this shana bet OJ guy deal with bein hazmanim!! Erg, for those who don't know what bein hazmanim is....its the "spring break" for the whole yerushalayim/eretz israel (like college spring break where people crack & party & go crazy, oh & learn too) On a better note I am starting a severe diet!! Yay a freind of mine and I are going on, I figured if I'm going to be in this country where I hate 90 percent of the food anyways, I might aswell. For those who don't know I have gained about 50 pounds since I graduated highschool...yelps!! PS I went to town tonight, oh boy it was great, showing off my white shirt & shana bet betterness, Looking forward for an interesting bein hazmanim & a beautiful chol hamoed.
October:
Talking to an old friend the other day about old times, he brought up the yeshiva I'm at; ohr yerushalayim which is shortened to OJ...anyway he brought it up & asked me "how's Orange Juice" I replied- "its concentrated". Wowwe allot has passed since my last blog, but thank god I surpassed the endangering shana bet Bein Hazmanim, went to town, saw some movies and hocked it up on ben yehuda. The start of the new Zman was off to a blast starting with a new dynamic morning seder chavroosa (reuvain turner) & 1 on 1'ing with my night seder rebbe & learning deep meforshim on the parsha hashavooa with friend moshe heideman also the madrich here at OJ after maariv during mishmar. The middle sedarim are still being plugged up. Simchas torah was spent in yeshiva which I truly signified the statement "ish besimcha b'gefen"!- yes that's made up. By the way anyone looking for a great scary mind working movie...make sure you see "SAW" it was wicked! But through all its great to be back on a schedule & back in the yeshiva setting, which one of my favorite parts of yeshiva is the clutch heated amazing swimming pool, CLUTCH CLUTCH its something that can't be beet! I am starting to setup my shabbos schedule which is going well & fast this past shabbos I along with my yeshiva had the opportunity to host HARAV Bailinson a major talmud chuchum & possek of Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim. This upcoming shabbos I imy"h will be in Soun'hedriah by my cousin rabbi baruch perl & family. The start of my diet has begun with an already loss of 3 pounds that is noticible. Did you ever notice that an american pretzel is flavored with salt while an israely pretzel is flavored with SESAME SEEDS! yuck. I also have the opportunity to continue my hobby in photography by taking the pictures for the yeshiva's recruiting video & brochure, let's jut say I know whose gonna be on that front cover! Also my friends in yeshiva have put together a choir "beit meir boys" their song aleinu is a major hit & is at the time my favorite song! Its posted on youtube one can search OJ or "beit meir boys" Any way I leave you off with the following... A king tells his most wise and sturdy messenger that he needs him to deliver a messege to a king in another village, he says that "you are to go, deliver & come right back!", so as to what he was told the messenger takes the fastest horse rushes to the other kingdom steps in & delivers the message. Just as the messenger is about to leave, the minister of the king says "wait you there I recognize you, you are the guy with a shield tattoo on your back". The messenger replies "no" I'm afraid you have me mistaken for someone else. The minister says NO NO NO you have a tattoo on your back & I know it, & to prove it so; I shall wage you $1000! The messenger new that he was keeping time from the king but couldn't turn down such an offer, for he knew he had no tattoo on his back, so he pulled his shirt off showed the kingdom & WON himself $1000. Later he finally got back to the king and said king you'll never guess what happened...& so on he told the story with a smile beyond his face. The king in a disappointed look said "you fool! THAT KING BET ME $10,000 that he could make you take your shirt off!" Sometimes in life its good to just stick to the agenda, Wishing all well Yours Truly, IJ Izak J. I spent last shabbos in RANNANA, wowwey! What an amazing shabbos it was! Going along with 4 other friends of mine we were off to the stark family very good people, we know the kids from camp and they let us come. And what was my favorite part about Rannana...we'll duh! Obviously the american-ism about it! Yes very american it is, don't mean the people, just the way the people are...wired. So Last shabbos was quite interesting as well! I had the privilege of going to harav hagoen rabbi baruch perl for shabbos asides from the amazing food and hospitality and cute children, they had hosted 5 "buchrim" from "Yeshivat Ohr Sameach"...for those who don't know Ohr Sameach...have someone explain it cause its too long (www.ohr.edu) And it was great we were just talking torah the whole entire meal (a special thanks to moshe heideman who went over medresh with me so I knew stuff on that parsa) just back and forth vort after vort, chop after chop...> Just another shout out to catch the OJ bands song aleinu go to www.youtube.com/tzvinorowitz check it out so far its a three out of three! Whatever that means >this week I will be at my rebbes house for shabbos, a shiur shabbatone (we'll see how that one goes) > also for a hilarious video on youtube search gobblin bloggin > EVER Heard of a PYRAMID SCAM! (Well if you haven't I'll explain in so few words but look it up...its somewhat like the movie pursuite of happiness, where person A sells a gadget to person B for more then its worth and person B sells to C,D & E for more then that & the chain continues creating a pyramid the problem with this that you must go out and spend long time & effort persuading people to by it)!...so why do I bring this UP for I had partaken in a scheme like this!! We'll you see I had spent last thursday with a freind of mine & one interesting thing led to another & before knew it some british fella pulls into the basemeant of "The conservative center of jerusalem" & we are listening to some guy trying to sell us a pyramid scheme! Will not go into it for its way too long but inshort it was a travel & take vacation mixed with costco stuff. This past shabbos I had the pleasure of staying at my rebbes house along with my shiur in har nof "the rosh yeshiva" harav moreinu sosefsky, shlita. As good as the shabbos was it was even better when I was reunited with my past! TJ TJ TJ & some CDG, yes TJ also had a shinig, RIGHT NEXT DOOR! It was great & amazing seeimy rebbe, harav refael klatzko & family as along with the famous AKIVA MILLER & RAV aaron rosenblatt. & of course seeing another special rebbe, Harav Pesach Siegal & many other former classmates of mine! Afterwords I went to my roomates football game which ironically TJ was playing as well! What a night indeed. While waiting for oUr delayed SuperBoos bus back to OJ, moshav Beit Meir in benyanay ha'umun, THE NA NACH VAN PULLS UP, and one can imagine how that went & wait it gets better finally after 20 minutes of delay & 75 OJ guys waiting a Very Small CITY SUPERBOOS pulls Up!??

Izak J. Held "JOUNIOR" Questions asked: Who is senior? .Why Jr? .Junior? .What happened to "ctt"? I'll first start off with the history then we will get to...why I added the suffix, the "degree", the title! there are 3 IZAK JACOB HELD's in New York! Yes 3 at least with that spelling, 1 was my grandfather zt"l (AKA: Itzik) Myself (AKA: IJ) And my cousin There is an izac held in chicago I believe with this spelling. "IZAC", not related. So with that said now you know the izak held's... "So IJ why JR there are 30 million YOLI GOLBERGS & 20,000 MOSHE STEIN's..." -yes but there are only 3 IZAK JACOB HELD's & only one IJ (me)
1st reason is to distinguish the izak who lives across the street from me. 2cnd the isaac down the block and in final the mail that comes to my house that is entitled for my grandfather "izak Held" So I needed to determine (that's a cool word) what mail was for me & not for the 3 izaks near me... What a shabbos! I spent by the Fein's in RBS last week, however I suffered from a terrible food poisoning/stomach virus sunday...one of the worst & hopefully THE worst pain I felt..ayman. Here's my new nickname izak "michael vick" held...why michael vick...well for those who don't know vick was a famous superstar football player, why famous I say cause he got cought for dog fighting he made big bucks on it too basically killing hundreds of dogs...so why am I like him...so OJ is known for its dog & cat infestation there are @least 100 cats & dogs on the moshav that just wonder through the day, these animals are starved, raped & tortured & HUNGRY, so after buying a geshmak fat sandwich from the local shnitzel place "BOBS", one of these dogs approached me with a sad & tung overlapped face, weezing & hungry more then ever look, I decided to give half of my sandwich, a nice sliced chicken strip to the poor fella. As I dropped the peace another dog came out of no where! & that's when the blood started to shed! All over the place blood was everywhere this was about 2 weks ago the dog is still no where to be found ah well This past shabbos the yeshiva took us to a hostel near the old city, what a wonderful experience that was, we had an OJ minyan @ the kotel singing dancing the works http://ow.ly/7sTJM or above video Check that link out for te OJ shana bet hanikkah shpiel. Mazel tov to my freind yossi langer upon his engagement & a mazel tov to dovid abrahmson upon his marriage. Finally saw SAW 3D the final chapter in the 7 part SAW series
